Mechanical pump housings, structural brackets, and engine accessory components for automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. PPAP documentation standard. ±0.02 mm on critical machined features. IATF 16949 expected September 2026.
Sector Overview
Automotive
Automotive component supply demands a level of process discipline and documentation that exceeds most other sectors. Dimensional capability must be demonstrated statistically. Material traceability must be continuous from alloy heat to finished component. First-article inspection and PPAP submission are prerequisites, not options.
SAPL supplies mechanical pump housings, structural brackets, oil pump bodies, and engine accessory mounts to automotive OEMs and Tier-1 suppliers. All machined features critical to assembly are held to ±0.02 mm on CNC turning centres and VMC machines, with CMM verification and signed inspection reports per batch.
We are actively working towards IATF 16949 certification, expected September 2026. Current ISO 9001:2015 quality system documentation — including FMEA, control plan, measurement system analysis, and process capability — is available for review. PPAP submissions covering dimensional results, material certificates, process flow, and sample parts can be provided for new programme approvals.
What OEMs Require
Understanding your requirements
These are the recurring requirements SAPL sees from OEMs and procurement teams in this sector — and how our process and quality system addresses them.
PPAP documentation
Full PPAP submission including dimensional results, process capability (Cpk), material certificates, FMEA, control plan, and measurement system analysis. Available for all automotive programmes.
Statistical dimensional capability
Critical features must demonstrate Cpk ≥ 1.33. SAPL conducts first-article capability studies and monitors critical dimensions in-process. CMM reports available per batch.
Full material traceability
Every component is traceable from the aluminium alloy heat — OES-verified on receipt — through casting, machining, and inspection to the finished component dispatch record.
IATF 16949 alignment
IATF 16949 certification expected September 2026. Current QMS includes FMEA, control plan, and process documentation aligned to IATF requirements. Available for customer audit.
