Gearbox housings, bearing carriers, machine body castings, and coupling housings for industrial machinery OEMs. GDC in LM25 with T6 heat treatment for load-bearing components. CNC-machined to bearing fit tolerances.
Sector Overview
Industrial Machinery
Industrial machinery housings carry static and dynamic loads for decades of continuous operation. The material requirements go beyond simple casting — mechanical properties matter. SAPL's GDC process in LM25 alloy, combined with T5 or T6 heat treatment, delivers tensile strengths of 200–230 MPa and hardness of 75–95 BHN — significantly stronger than equivalent HPDC castings in ADC12.
Gearbox housings and bearing carriers require bore tolerances matched to bearing fits — typically H7 in the range of ±0.012 to ±0.021 mm depending on bore diameter. These tolerances are achievable and repeatable on SAPL's CNC turning centres, which are dedicated to high-precision bore work. All bearing housings are CMM verified against drawing before dispatch.
For OEMs running machinery production at volume, SAPL offers the full contract manufacturing model: GDC casting, heat treatment, CNC machining, inspection, and dispatch — all under one quality system with a single Certificate of Conformance per shipment.
What OEMs Require
Understanding your requirements
These are the recurring requirements SAPL sees from OEMs and procurement teams in this sector — and how our process and quality system addresses them.
T6 mechanical properties
Load-bearing gearbox and housing components must meet minimum mechanical property requirements. SAPL provides heat treatment certificates and Brinell hardness test results for every T5/T6 batch, confirming properties are within specification.
Bearing bore tolerances to H7
Bearing housing bores are machined to H7 tolerance and verified by CMM. Out-of-tolerance bores are rejected before dispatch — there is no field adjustment for bearing fit issues.
Mating face flatness
Gearbox split faces and housing joints require flatness to ensure oil-tight assembly without additional sealing compound. Flatness is measured by CMM and reported per batch.
Long-term dimensional stability
GDC in LM25 provides better dimensional stability under thermal cycling than HPDC alloys. For machinery operating at elevated temperatures, alloy selection is confirmed during DFM review.
